It’s a tough mat-forming perennial herb that stays under 15 cm. tall but spreads horizontally to up to 1.5 m. It grows from a stout woody root, stems are prostrate, sometimes rooting at the nodes. It thrives in almost any soil, including dry and sandy soil, and grows in both sun and partial shade
